WSN x This Girl Can: Brazilian Jiujitsu Self-Defence Class

Led by our Gender, Diversity & Inclusion Officer (Nimisha Pangeni), the Women’s Student Network (WSN) is hosting a special Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) taster session focused on body autonomy, confidence, and women’s safety.

BJJ is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on technique, leverage, and control rather than size or strength. It teaches you how to protect your personal space, break free from holds safely and trust your instincts whilst also building your physical confiedence 

We want to encourage women to get active and empower women through movement. Tthis session creates a supportive, beginner-friendly space where you can learn practical self-defence techniques while building strength physically and mentally. Because feeling safe in your body matters and knowing how to protect yourself matters too.Date: Thursday 26th MarchTime: 1.30pm - 2.45pm Location: Indoor Atheltics Centre (IAC)
