"Pride" is a 2014 historical comedy-drama film, directed by Matthew Warchus and written by Stephen Beresford, that’s essentially a heartwarming cocktail of history, comedy, and activism. Based on a true story, it revolves around an unlikely band of lesbian and gay activists who, during the British miners' strike in 1984, decided to raise money for the miners' families. The film earned rave reviews and bagged the Queer Palm award at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.
